Using traditional basketry techniques, Sarah will guide participants in setting the main stakes and weaving a rope to form the shape of the structure. This hands-on course offers a therapeutic and enjoyable experience as you craft your very own decorations for the festive season. Whether you choose to gift your handmade items or keep them for your own home, this workshop is suitable for all levels, including beginners. All materials and tools will be provided, so you can simply focus on unleashing your creativity. Sarah Gardner, a trained textile designer with a passion for constructed textiles, has been practicing basketry for the past 7 years. Her interest in growing and foraging natural materials for making, as well as her make-do-and-mend approach, adds a unique touch to her work. Sarah's dedication to the craft is evident in her constant testing of different materials and weaving techniques. As an advocate for the crafts, Sarah also assists in running a small leather accessories company and teaches basketry in Brighton. Be sure not to miss Sarah's other workshops this autumn/winter, including the Christmas Tree Decorations and Star workshops on December 4th and 5th.
