The Frontier Culture Museum is thrilled to announce that Cindy Kierner will be giving a talk on her latest book, "The Tory's Wife", which has been published by the prestigious University of Virginia Press. This captivating book delves into the story of Jane Spurgin, a dedicated patriot who fervently supported the Revolution, while her husband, William, fought on the side of the king as a loyalist. However, after the war ended, William abandoned his family, leaving Jane to bravely fight to keep their home, which was at risk of being lost due to his Toryism. Jane's battle for her home ultimately led her to demand the same rights as her fellow citizens, making a bold and radical statement in revolutionary America.

Cindy Kierner, an esteemed historian and author, has expertise in early America, women's history, and the history of disasters.
