Beginning Oct. 17 - 19, we are holding two special performances of Poe stories and poems each night one at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. All performances held in the visitor center auditorium and light refreshments will be provided (coffee, cookies, etc.). Edgar Allan Poe was America’s most famous writer of the macabre, and several of his works were among the personal collection of James A. Garfield. The special performances of Poe stories and poems feature actor David Keltz, America’s foremost Poe living historian! Doors will open 5 min. prior to scheduled ticket time with each program approx. 1.5 hours. During the first half hour, tour the Garfield home and enjoy light refreshments. Hunt down the witches before you become one of them! Will you be the hero who purges your town of witches, or will you be wrongly accused and hanged for witchcraft? Or perhaps you will become a witch yourself, escape conviction, and bring Salem to the ground in hysteria. Deciding who to trust is key to survival, since you can never play a card on yourself.Players each start the game with 5 Tryal cards. If a player receives enough accusations, one of their Tryal cards is revealed. Once all Witch Tryal cards have been found, the villagers of Salem win.The Night card, forces all players to close their eyes while the Witches secretly choose someone to eliminate.The Conspiracy card forces all players to take a face-down Tryal card from the player to their left. A bluffing deduction game for everyone. Each round involves two missions, depending on whether you’re the Chameleon or not. Mission 1: You are the Chameleon. No one knows your identity except you. Your mission is to blend in, not get caught and to work out the Secret Word. Mission 2: You are not the Chameleon. Try to work out who the Chameleon is without giving away the Secret Word. At the beginning of the round each player receives a card that tells them if they are the Chameleon or hunting the Chameleon. Two dice are rolled and this gives everyone (except the Chameleon) the coordinates to a specific word on a Topic Card – this is the Secret Word for the round. Each Topic Card features 16 related words (e.g. countries, books, food, etc.) Each player must now say a word relating to the Secret Word. The Chameleon can only make an educated guess based on the 16 words in front of them. What to Expect: Choose either 4pm or 6pm to play. Staff will start the game and facilitate.
