The exhibition reviews the museum's evolution: from its birth at the 1915 Panama-California Exposition, to its grand opening in 1926, its conversion into a naval hospital during World War II, the modernization of Balboa Park in the 1960s and 70s, the groundbreaking exhibitions of the 1980s and 90s, the transformation at the turn of the millennium, and a vision for the next century.

The call received an enthusiastic response, yielding numerous inspiring submissions that showcased the artistic talent of our community. Ultimately, we selected a series of works to reflect the diversity of artistic approaches and the shared emotional connection artists have with this historic building.
