Join the excitement at the 2023 MCAS Keiki Tradewind Triathlon! This thrilling children's-only event is perfect for those seeking a fun and challenging triathlon experience. Hosted by the Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), the MCAS Keiki Tradewind Triathlon offers two age divisions: 7-10 years old and 11-14 years old. The race will kick off at Hangar 101, located at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Participants will begin with a refreshing swim in the calm waters of Kaneohe Bay, followed by a scenic bike ride through the magnificent Marine Corps Base Hawaii flightline. Finally, runners will take on the exhilarating run. This thrilling event is open to the general public, providing an opportunity for young athletes to showcase their skills and determination. The 11-14 age division race will commence at 6:30 am on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023. Participants in this category will tackle a 200-meter swim, a 3.2-mile bike ride, and a 1.2-mile run. The 7-10 age division race will begin at 7:30 am on the same day, featuring a 50-meter swim, a 2-mile bike ride, and a 0.8-mile run. Please note that non-DoD civilians requiring base access must register no later than Friday, September 8th. Online registration will close on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 11:59HST. Check-in and safety inspections will begin at 5:00 am, with the safety brief for the 11-14 age group at 6:15 am and the safety brief for the 7-10 age group at 7:15 am. All participants must wear helmets during the bike portion, and bike inspections will be available prior to the race. Lifeguards will be present during the swim portion for added safety. Following the event, age category and overall results, including participants' first names, last names, gender, and age, will be posted on the MCCS Hawaii Race Page. Join the Marines and Sailors of Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) for the 2023 MCAS Adult Triathlon, known as the Tradewind Triathlon. This exciting event will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2023, starting at 6:30 am. The triathlon will begin with a refreshing 500-meter swim in the stunning waters of Kaneohe Bay. Participants will then embark on a fast-paced 12-mile bike ride around the MCBH flightline, followed by a scenic 5K run that ends on the flightline. This triathlon is open to the general public, so whether you're a military member or a civilian, you can join in the fun. Early registration is available until Sunday, September 10, 2023, with prices ranging from $85.00 to $115.00, depending on your registration category. Regular registration begins on Monday, September 11, 2023, with prices increasing slightly. Online registration will close on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 11:59 pm HST, so make sure to secure your spot before then. Safety is a top priority, and bike inspections will be provided before the race begins.
