DeWitt
Join the Madden Speaker Series at Le Moyne College Chapel in Syracuse on November 2, 2023, for an enlightening discussion with Roberto Clemente Jr. and Josiah Gray. This event will delve into the remarkable legacy left by baseball legend Roberto Clemente, who was not only an exceptional player but also a compassionate humanitarian. Despite his untimely passing in a tragic plane crash while delivering aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua, his legacy lives on through Major League Baseball's Roberto Clemente Award. This prestigious accolade recognizes players who exemplify Clemente's accomplishments and character. We are proud to announce that one of this year's nominees is Josiah Gray, an alumnus of Le Moyne College and starting pitcher for the Washington Nationals. Gray has not only excelled on the field but has also made significant contributions off the field. He actively participates in the Nationals' community projects, including the summer reading program, and supports initiatives such as the "Cancer Isn't Kuhl" campaign. As a player ambassador for the organization's Youth Baseball Academy, Gray showcases his dedication to the game of baseball through his exceptional character, community involvement, philanthropy, and positive contributions.
