Founded in 1967, the Brighton Festival is England's largest arts festival, one of the world's largest fringe festivals, and one of the most creative festivals. Held annually in May, it is England's largest and most diverse fringe festival, lasting four weeks. This fringe festival encompasses a wide range of arts activities, including music, theatre, dance, acrobatics, art, film, literature, forums, fairs, and family events. The 2026 Brighton Festival will run from May 1st to May 25th, marking its 60th anniversary.
