Whoof Kids Camp Week 1 2025 (June 23-27) | Whoof on the Wharf
Jun 23, 2025 (UTC-4)
Edgewater
This is a summer day camp for kids ages 8-14 that takes place at Pier 7 Marina in Edgewater, MD. Pier 7 is a gated marina with multiple beaches at the intersection of the South River and Warehouse Creek. This camp will involve a combination of activities from kayaking, paddle boarding, arts and crafts, basic dog obedience skills, and learning about our local environment on the Chesapeake Bay.
The paddling portion will begin with kids learning basic kayaking and paddle boarding skills. From there we will explore Warehouse Creek on kayaks and SUPs and do some fun activities like relay races and scavenger hunts. Because Whoof has a heart for dogs, we'll be teaching some basic dog obedience skills with some visiting pups. And weather permitting, we'll work in a family paddle one afternoon.
Our arts and crafts program will involve various projects throughout the summer, including clay works, painting, group murals, crafting and more. We strive to do at least one different art project each week so that, if kids want to come more than one week, they will be doing something different each time. Best of all, Echoes of Nature will be back with new animal ambassadors this year, and Marvelous K9 Training will be back with their amazing pups to help teach the kids how to kayak with dogs!!
Each camp runs for one week, Monday through Friday from 9-4. Regular drop off is between 8:30-9:00. Early drop-off (starting at 7:30) and late pickup (until 5:30) are available, and can be purchased on site in the clubhouse as needed ($10 each time), or bought in advance for the whole week at a 20% discount at the time of registration plus Eventbrite fees. Campers should know how to swim, and should bring their own lunch, water, snacks, sunscreen, bathing suit, hat, towel, water shoes and change of clothes. We offer a 10% discount for those who register multiple campers, or who register for multiple weeks. Contact us for details on how to obtain the discount! An additional early bird registration discount is in effect until the end of the day on March 31, 2024.
