About
I Lived to Tell the Story
A powerful and heartfelt memoir of perseverance and triumph over tragedy from Tamika D. Mallory, trailblazing social justice leader and cofounder of the Women's March.
In this candid and defiant memoir, a follow-up to her "masterful" (Marc Lamont Hill,
New York Times
bestselling author) response to the murders of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd,
State of Emergency
, Tamika D. Mallory holds nothing back as she shares hers, the activist's life.
From early days as daughter to Black civil rights activists in Harlem, New York, to a young Black woman's first battles against the physical and political violence she'd fight all her life, to the never-before-shared personal and professional crises launched by those forces intent on keeping her silent, this is a work of activism in motion and an unflinching story of America at the turn of the 21st century.
Ultimately,
I Lived to Tell the Story
is a celebration of the profound truth that our hearts grow closest when we discover that the values we share are grounded in personal truths as well as high-minded aspiration.
Tamika D. Mallory
is a trailblazing social justice leader, movement strategist, globally recognized civil rights activist, cofounder of Until Freedom and the historic Women's March, and author of
I Lived to Tell the Story
and
State of Emergency
. She served as the youngest ever executive director of the National Action Network. Her speech in the wake of the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota--entitled "State of Emergency"--was dubbed "the speech of a generation" by ABC News. Mallory is an expert in the areas of gun violence prevention, criminal justice reform, and grassroots organizing.

Tulsa
The Dinner Detective is America's largest interactive true crime mystery comedy dinner show! Solve a hilarious and engaging mystery while you feast on a fantastic dinner. Just beware! The killer is hiding somewhere in the room, and you may find yourself as a Prime Suspect! Our show is very different from traditional true crime mystery dinner shows. We will hide non-costumed actors in the audience that are pretending to be part of the crowd. This results in a much more social and interactive evening than with other shows. Our shows are set during the present day and take place in real time. Over the course of the night, our costumed Detectives will uncover clues, interrogate audience members that may or may not be part of the show, and help everyone get closer to solving the mystery.

series, two strangers—each with their own complicated relationship to Death-Cast—help each other learn to live.
Paz Dario stays up every night, waiting for the Death-Cast call that would mean he doesn’t have to keep faking his way through this lonely life. After a devastating day, Paz decides he’s done waiting around for Death-Cast. If they say he’s not dying, he’ll just have to prove them wrong. But right before Paz can die, a boy saves his life.
Alano Rosa is heir to the Death-Cast empire that encourages everyone to live their best lives, but he doesn’t feel in control of his own existence thanks to his father. And with a violent organization called the Death Guard threatening Alano, his End Day might be closer than he thinks. It’s time to live.
Fate brings Paz and Alano together, but it’s now up to the boys to survive the tragic trials ahead so no one dies at the end.

About
Washing My Mother's Body
A beautifully illustrated edition of Poet Laureate Joy Harjo’s poem “Washing My Mother’s Body,” which offers a way through grief when the loss appears unbearable.
As I wash my mother’s face, I tell her
how beautiful she is, how brave, how her beauty and bravery
live on in her grandchildren. Her face is relaxed, peaceful.
Her earth memory body has not left yet,
but when I see her the next day, embalmed and in the casket
in the funeral home, it will be gone.
Where does it go?
Through lyrical prose and evocative watercolor illustrations by award-winning Muscogee artist Dana Tiger,
Washing My Mother’s Body
explores the complexity of a daughter’s grief as she reflects on the joys and sorrows of her mother’s life. She lays her mother to rest in the landscape of her memory, honoring the hands that raised her, the body that protected her, and the legs that carried her mother through adversity.
Moving, comforting, and deeply emotional,
Washing My Mother’s Body
is a tender look at mother-daughter relationships, the complexity of grieving the loss of a parent, and the enduring love of those left behind.
