Step into the powerful and under-explored stories of disabled people during the Second World War in We Will Not Be Left Behind, a new installation at IWM Duxford. Created in partnership with Screen South’s Accentuate programme as part of the Curating Visibility project, this immersive, accessible experience brings to light the resilience, challenges, and contributions of deaf and disabled individuals during wartime.

From designer bookbindings to eye-catching homeware, leather produced in Nigeria – prized for its premium quality and impeccable aesthetics – has been used to elevate everything from books, shoes and bags to one-of-a-kind personal items for centuries. Take a closer look at never-before-seen examples from across the University of Cambridge’s collections, from the 1800s to now, and uncover a story of empire, craft and labour.

From elaborately decorated coffins to the Books of the Dead, ancient Egyptians produced objects which remain iconic today. But who were the makers behind them and how were they made? Revealing the untold stories of the Egyptian makers, technology and techniques behind these extraordinary objects, our exciting new exhibition is the first to explore ancient Egypt through the lives of its craftspeople, bringing together jewellery, ceramics, sculpture and more, including spectacular objects never before seen in the UK.

This new exhibition by one of the UK’s most renowned and celebrated contemporary artists will present new paintings, a special installation made in collaboration with Magda Stawarska and ‘interventions’ in the Kettle’s Yard house.Initially trained in theatre design, Himid is best known for her innovative approaches to painting and social engagement, playing a pivotal role in the British Black Arts movement since the 1980s. Over the last decade, she has earned international recognition for her figurative canvases, which explore overlooked and invisible aspects of history and contemporary daily life.

Continuing our occasional series of exhibitions that highlights artists’ response to colour, Between Light and Shadow explores the moments when colour is removed allowing tone, gesture and line to speak for itself.Join us in celebrating the monochromatic spectrum in this exhibition that brings together a collection of works across medium and generation. Naturally, black and white photography will be central to the exhibition, led by artist/photographer and gallery owner, Lotte Attwood, alongside Fenland photographer Paul Hart and 1970’s fashion photographer James Wedge.
