The day will include stage by stage demonstrations and one to one tuition as you work to capture realistic life and form using precise colours and brushwork. It is suitable for both beginners and experienced artists looking to develop their skills. A charge of £65 pp includes all tuition and materials. Enjoy a one-on-one craft workshop where you can make your own replica of a piece of Viking history. As part of the Skeggir’s Heimr Viking Experience at The Village Church Farm Museum, Lindissi CIC, Scarlet Impressions and Forged in Hellheim are working together to provide hands-on workshops designed to provide a taste of Viking crafts and set to a background of a Viking camp, with the sights and sounds of Viking life. Lindissi CIC is offering a ceramics workshop where you can make Viking or Saxon pottery in simple household forms such as lamps and cups. These will later be fired and sent on to you as finished items. An introduction to wood fired kilns will also be included. Scarlet impressions is offering a glass bead making workshop, using Scarlet’s extensive research to make a historically accurate glass bead tailored to your particular historical or regional interests. Forged in Hellheim is offering a white metal working (silversmithing) workshop that will take you through the process of making a Mjolnir pendant. This session will deepen understanding, reduce stigma, and highlight effective ways to offer support, both personally and professionally. Through lived experiance infused information, interactive group activities, and reflective discussion, participants will build confidence in recognising the spectrum of bipolar presentations and develop empathy-led approaches to care and communication. Breakfast will be served between 8:45am to 9am. Please be aware if you arrive later than the event start time you will not be able to park in the car park due to the tide. Access to the reserve by foot is limited and vehicles will need to remain in the car park until the tide subsides. Enjoy our interactive, outdoor trail through the woods as the reserve goes dark. As you explore there will be challenges for your family to complete and you’ll have the chance to try out the bat detectors and UV lights to see what extra wildlife you can spot. When at the Coastguard Station get hands-on dissecting owl pellets to find out what they’ve been eating, followed by a relaxing hot chocolate as you watch the stars. Weather permitting, we will finish the evening with a walk through the saltmarsh, looking for crabs and doing a bit of stargazing. This event is suitable for children aged 6-11 and booking is essential as places are limited. Maximum of 2 adults per child. Parking is available, normal parking fees apply.
