The Impressionist Revolution: from Monet to Matisse of the Dallas Museum of Art | Palacio de Bellas Artes
Mar 25–Jul 27, 2025 (UTC-6)
Mexico City
The Impressionist Revolution: From Monet to Matisse of the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) explores the fascinating history of Impressionism, from its birth in 1874 to the legacy it achieved in the early years of the 20th century. Counted entirely through the exceptional collections of the DMA, this exhibition reveals the rebellious origins of the collective of independent artists known as the Impressionists - and the revolution they created in modern art.
Breaking with tradition both in the techniques used and in the subjects they painted, as well as in the ways in which their works exhibited, the Impressionists redefined what was considered to be avant-garde contemporary art. The movement's unique innovations of central figures, such as Claude Monet, Edgar Degas and Berthe Morisot, laid the groundwork for those answered by avant-garde artists of later generations, from Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh to Piet Mondrian and Henri Matisse.

Amazônia | National Museum of Anthropology
2025年2月1日–5月31日 (UTC-6)
Mexico City
The Amazon has always sparked the imagination. As the source of numerous metaphors, its image often deviates from the reality of this vast territory, the largest tropical rainforest in the world.
Amazônia documents daily life in this region, which spans nine South American countries and is home to 188 indigenous groups, 114 of whom have had no contact with the outside world. This territory is threatened by pollution, mining, mass agriculture, and other industries.
Conceived by photographer Sebastião Salgado, through 230 black and white photographs, it establishes a dialogue between nature and humanity, reflecting the majesty of the forest, rivers, and mountains. Curated by Lélia Wanick Salgado, it offers a sensorial immersion, with large-format images, spaces evoking indigenous huts, and a musical work by Jean-Michel Jarre based on the sounds of the tropical rainforest.

For thousands of years, humanity has shaped clay to create pottery, one of the earliest technological manifestations used by our ancestors in their daily lives and rituals. Many of these objects, in addition to their functionality, stand out for their beauty and for being the result of the work of specialized potters.
The Ceramics: Voices of Ancient Clay exhibition brings together a select collection of ceramic objects from the cultural zone of Western Mexico, with the aim of exploring the link between the past and the present through ceramics. This exhibition highlights the importance of clay as a key source of information for understanding ancient societies, from its discovery in excavations to its restoration and museum display.
