Introduction to Outdoor Swimming, Additional Needs An opportunity for anyone with additional needs of any kind with their carer (if appropriate) to come and have a go at outdoor swimming in a safe and relaxed session. This is for people who are new to swimming outdoors and would like to have a go or would like to learn more about doing it safely. No diagnosis is needed, and the sessions are suitable for those with any additional needs including those who experience anxiety. There is no age limit, and the numbers attending will be kept small. There is no pressure to get in the water, and support if you do from qualified lifeguards and experienced swimmer volunteers. Parents or guardians will get in the water with child/children. Take part in a safe and friendly taster session with qualified lifeguards and experienced swimmer volunteers, with some fun activities on swimming safety. The event is for adults and young people ages 13 +. It is aimed at those who have not been to an intro session before, are new to swimming outdoors and would like to have a go, and would like to learn about safety and tackling fears.
