Experience the captivating love story of transition, testosterone, and James Dean with "Pronoun" by Evan Placey. This thought-provoking play explores the journey of Dean, who, after 16 years of living as a girl, finally embraces his true identity. While Dean finds liberation in his medical transition, his loved ones struggle to accept this significant change. His relationship with his boyfriend, Josh, has ended, and tensions arise within his family. Despite the support from his friend group, Dean still feels misunderstood and isolated. As they navigate the complexities of transition, change, and personal growth, the characters must rise to meet the challenges before them.
"Pronoun" was commissioned as part of the prestigious 2014 National Theatre Connections Festival and has been brought to life by talented 4th year BA (Hons) Acting and English students.
