Beauty at Upwood Meadows | Upwood Meadows NNR
Jul 12, 2025 (UTC+1)
Huntingdon
We are blessed with several National Nature Reserves in the vicinity and Upwood Meadows is perhaps the least known. Designated an NNR for its wildflower diversity, it is also a Coronation meadow from which seeds are taken to help reverse the loss of this low-lying grassland habitat. In July, the interesting plants we hope to see include Sulphur Clover, Saw-wort, Betony and Pepper Saxifrage as well as the insects they attract and dragonflies around the necklace of dewponds. Nationally renowned botanist Sarah Lambert will guide us around this gem of a site.
Park and meet in the Reserve Car Park off Meadow Lane, grid ref TL25088245, w3w feasting.herds.cringes, nearest postcode PE26 2QL.
