Chicago Tap Theatre proudly collaborates with the Chicago Parks District to present tap dance classes at Loyola Park. Geared towards children aged 3-6, this beginner-focused class aims to instill a lifelong passion for dance and music. Led by Molly Smith, the Rehearsal Director at Chicago Tap Theatre with extensive teaching experience, students will delve into tap dance fundamentals, musical terminology, and history, while honing their technique and fostering a sense of community. Emphasizing growth and dedication to the art of tap dance, Chicago Tap Theatre's educational approach focuses on enhancing students' comprehension of tap dance theory, technique, and history. By participating in this class, students will gain insight into the essence of tap dancing, including music literacy, improvisation, and cultural significance. Join us for a complimentary trial class on March 26th, followed by an 8-week session commencing on April 2nd to embark on a journey of learning and self-discovery in the vibrant world of tap dance.
