A&H Conversations is pleased to invite lifetime learners to engage in thought-provoking discussions centered around the rich history, arts, and culture of Central Florida. Each month, distinguished subject matter experts present new themes that captivate and inspire. This month, A&H Conversations has partnered with Open Scene to host a special reading event featuring stories from Gisela Romero's Tablerunner Stories. Through her exhibition, Romero skillfully employs the visual symbolism of the table runner to share her personal journey as a Venezuelan immigrant. She also contemplates the experiences of individuals who are compelled to leave their homelands. This immersive exhibition provides a unique insight into the profound and often complex emotions associated with migration and cultural displacement. Join A&H Conversations at the Art & History Museums of Maitland as we delve into the profound narratives woven within Gisela Romero's Tablerunner Stories. Experience the power of visual storytelling and discover the universal themes of human resilience, identity, and belonging. This event will take place on February 28, 2024, and tickets will be available for purchase starting January 17, 2024, at 12:00 AM.
