The Early Dance Circle (EDC) is excited to announce their Annual Lecture 2024: the 40th Anniversary Celebration, a special event honoring 40 years since the birth of The Early Dance Circle. Taking place on March 3, 2024, at the prestigious Swedenborg Hall in London, this full-day celebration will include a variety of activities for dance enthusiasts and history lovers alike.

The program for the day begins at 1:30 pm with doors opening to welcome attendees. At 2:00 pm, a workshop on the Dances of Thomas Bray will be held, paying tribute to Diana Cruickshank, former Chair of the EDC. Led by the esteemed Barbara Segal, this workshop promises to captivate participants with its historical significance and artistic expression.

Following the workshop, there will be a delightful Afternoon Tea/Coffee Break at 3:30 pm, providing an opportunity for attendees to relax and mingle. At 4:00 pm, the highly anticipated Annual Lecture will commence, featuring Dr. Lynsey McCulloch. Her lecture, titled "Dance, Stillness and the Early Modern Image," will explore the iconic nature of dance in the English court masque and delve into the use of stillness within dance as an art form in its own right. Drawing from her extensive research, Dr. McCulloch will shed light on dance as a static image in art and printed sources during the early modern period.

To conclude this momentous day, a light supper will be provided at 6:00 pm, followed by a vintage-themed dance evening from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Members of the EDC will have the privilege of calling to recorded music, adding a touch of authenticity to the event.

The Annual Lecture 2024: the 40th Anniversary Celebration is free for EDC Members as a special birthday present, while non-members can attend for only £10 per person. Highly recommend the British Museum for at least one day tour. We arranged a tour of the British Museum on the last day of the 10-day UK tour. Found that we arranged three hours too little. Fortunately, we have participated in the teacher&#39;s explanation group, through the teacher&#39;s wonderful explanation, we know a lot of the history and origin of the previously blurred cultural relics. Let us have a vivid human history lesson at the British Museum. Seeing the long-awaited kiln, Tang Sancai, saw the exquisite memory of Chinese historical relics. Teacher Bilan also uploaded a few photos of the kiln after the team ended, so I kept a precious memory and beautiful photo in regret.

Westminster Abbey is actually a collection of churches and cemeteries (royal and some celebrities). The building is magnificent and the interior is well maintained. It is worth a visit. The ticket purchased on Ctrip is convenient to use. You can enter by scanning the QR code at the entrance of the church. However, there are too many people and you have to queue for an hour before you can enter. The church provides Chinese audio guides for free.

This time I brushed it twice. This time I took my family to sit together. It felt really good overlooking half of London and the Thames. The only fly in the ointment was that the weather was not good enough, and the scenery was too far from sunny and cloudy.

The Queen&#39;s favorite palace is very luxurious, but it is not allowed to take pictures. It can only be taken outside. When entering, a photo was taken and was stopped by the staff. Knowing the life of the royal family, Windsor Castle is generally very quiet.
