Welcome to the Big Bike Revival Maintenance Classes - The Essentials in Sheffield. This hands-on course is perfect for those new to the world of bike fixing. In this class, participants will learn the fundamentals of puncture repair and bike safety checks. Funded by Cycling UK's Big Bike Revival initiative, these classes are free to attend, but a £10 booking fee deposit is required to secure a place. The expert instructors will guide participants through the basics, from understanding bike anatomy to fixing a flat tyre and safety checking. Participants will gain practical skills that will empower them to confidently maintain and repair their bikes. The class will demystify the world of bicycle mechanics and provide participants with the necessary tools to enhance their riding experience. The topics covered include setting up a safe working environment, disconnecting and reconnecting brakes, removing wheels, puncture repair (inner tube replacement), safety checkovers, essential diagnosis, and chain wear. All necessary equipment, including bikes, tools, and PPE, will be provided, so participants only need to bring themselves.
