The Italian Cultural Institute of Sydney is pleased to host the presentation of The Legend of Busby, a touching memoir written by Vittoria Pasquini, an Italian professor at the Australian National University in Canberra. The book tells the story of a special house, a “sandcastle” on the hill of Bronte, overlooking Sydney’s sea. Through the imagined gaze of the house itself, the author retraces the most significant moments of her life and the lives of the people who lived there. These pages reveal the pain of losing her husband and son Valerio, who tragically died in a car accident in Malawi, but also the strength of a woman who found new hope in family bonds, friendships and her commitment to others. Among the memories shared, the house becomes a silent witness to events ranging from the most dramatic, such as the challenges of a family marked by grief, to the joys shared with friends, and acts of solidarity toward those most vulnerable. The story intertwines with memories of her family home in Italy and the author’s experiences in distant places like Kenya, the United States, and Algeria, offering a glimpse into a life filled with challenges, but also extraordinary beauty. After the loss of Valerio, Vittoria founded the Valerio Daniel De Simoni Association, which keeps the memory of her son alive through concrete acts of help for the most fragile, including refugees. This presentation will be a unique opportunity to hear the stories that animate the book directly from the author’s voice and reflect on the strength of memory, family bonds, and solidarity. The presentation will be in English.

My first time visiting this tower ,all the staff was extremely friendly and helpful .We really enjoyed visiting this beautiful piece of history and we adore york. Was so happy to know it is english heritage so everytime we go somewhere we try and make use out of our membership.Was a wonderful structure been made for the stairs nice and strong. We enjoyed the roof top being able to have a clear 360 view was magnificent well worth all the climbing up both stairs .

There are rumors that Wimbledon Street is good to see, but when I actually went there, it was nice because there were many shops to see! I heard that the ghost shop is famous, but there was a long line in front of me, so I couldn&#39;t go in.

Walk about five minutes from York Station, go to platform 11, cross the overpass, there are signs, it is easy to see. There are not many people, I didn&#39;t make an appointment to go directly in. There are a lot of local elderly and children, but watch quietly. The history of the train is clear at a glance, and the knowledge is increased. Half of the backbone of European railways comes from Britain, and the trains and train technology that existed more than a hundred and fifty years ago are truly admirable.
