The Canadian Masterclass Series, presented by RBC, is coming to Toronto on Sunday, February 4, 2024. This exclusive event offers aspiring dancers across the country a remarkable opportunity to train with the exceptional Prima Ballerina Chan Hon Goh C.M. D.Litt., former Principal Dancer of The National Ballet of Canada and Director of Goh Ballet Academy. Designed for students aged 10 and above, the masterclass focuses on the art of storytelling through ballet. Participants will refine their technical skills and explore dance mime while embodying themes of love and ethereal transcendence. Ms. Goh will guide students through her favorite romantic ballets, including La Sylphide and Giselle, reviving the beauty of expression through movement. Attending the Canadian Masterclass Series also opens doors for students to audition for admission to the prestigious Goh Ballet Academy and potentially receive a scholarship to further their dance education. Throughout the tour, select scholarship awards totaling $10,000 will be granted to outstanding participants, based on their technique and artistic potential. Additionally, all participants and parents are invited to a special 'Meet the Artist' Q&A session with Ms. Goh, where students can submit their questions in advance. This unique event takes place from 12:15pm to 12:45pm EST. To be eligible for the masterclasses, students must have at least three years of ballet training and be aged between 10 and 19, with a minimum of Grade 4 RAD or equivalent. The two sessions available, PIQUE (Junior Level) and JETE (Senior Level), cater to different age groups and skill levels. Please ensure you sign up for the appropriate session.
