Shelter Cymru's Castles & Cathedrals bike ride is back for 2025 with two routes available to choose from: Castles Short - 36.1 Miles/58.2km (2,494 feet of climbing) - Castles Small 2025 | 36.1 mi Cycling Route on Strava Castles Long - 68.9 Miles/111.0km (6,051 feet of climbing) - Castles Long 2025 | 68.9 mi Cycling Route on Strava The two routes will start and finish at The Cathedral School, Llandaff in Cardiff, and allow riders the chance to take in the spectacular scenery of South Wales and the Vale of Glamorgan. There will be refreshment stops along the way, with a warm welcome and your finisher's medal waiting for you when you cross the finish line at The Cathedral School. Every penny raised will support Shelter Cymru's work, supporting families and individuals in Wales experiencing poor housing and homelessness. Each year we help over 20,000 people to find, and keep, a home - by taking part, you're helping to ensure our vital work can continue. An amazing castle and visiting the grounds was a treat. Full of history and going through the surroundings, it wasn&#39;t repetitive and not boring at all. I absolutely loved it and it&#39;s was very interesting. I love the Arab Room and the war shelters.
Reasonable priced tickets compared to the Royal castle prices.
I highly recommend this visit for all ages.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
I love Cardiff. It&#39;s so refreshing compared to London.

Pleasant enough way to spend a couple of hours. Went primarily to see the paintings but (and of course this is entirely a matter of personal taste) there wasnt a lot to rock my boat and not a lot of range. Some of the pottery was quite interesting but could have been better displayed. The natural history section on the ground floor was rather more interesting than expected- not too &quot;dry&quot;

Cardiff Bay is very easy to go.  It is very closed to Cardiff Central Station.  You can take the bus or walk 30 mins from central station.  It is free to visit, of course, and the scenary there is fantastic.  You can spend a few hours there, no doubt.  Take lots of pictures there.  There are a lot of shops and restaurant and coffee shop there.  So once you are tired, you can grab a coffee there, by sitting next to the seashore, enjoying the coffee and the sea at the same time.  Different kinds of pubs and restaurant there, from high class to family restaurant.  There are also a few historical buildings there, and there is a modern exhibition center there.  The design of its outlook is so high tech, you definitely will fall in love with it.
