Join artist Tianli Zu at the 16albermarle Project Space in Newtown for an immersive and educational workshop on traditional Chinese papercutting. During the workshop, Tianli will guide the children through the traditional Chinese papercutting techniques, incorporating her own expertise and knowledge gained from her extensive experience in the field. The workshop takes inspiration from Tianli's work featured in the current exhibition at the 16albermarle Project Space, titled "Home and Away: Eight Asian Australian Artists."

Children will explore the symbolic patterns and meanings behind traditional papercutting, while also learning about positive and negative space in the art form. No previous experience is required, as all materials will be provided for the workshop.

Tianli Zu is a Sydney-based multidisciplinary artist known for her expertise in various mediums, including painting, sculpture, multimedia installations, and video. Her work is deeply rooted in Chinese folklore and incorporates traditional papercutting techniques passed down to her by her grandmother.

The 16albermarle Project Space, established by art adviser John Cruthers, aims to connect Australian audiences with Southeast Asian art. The space promotes the artists it showcases and sells artworks to support the artists financially. The venue has hosted 17 exhibitions to date, featuring artists and artworks from various Southeast Asian countries.
