From a young age, Weixin has had a deep interest in arts and crafts. Since relocating to Swansea, she has been passionate about promoting Chinese culture more widely and meaningfully within the community. Weixin has worked as a community artist for several years, using her creative skills to engage and inspire others. After earning her Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PgCE), she began collaborating with various communities to support wellbeing and personal development through the arts. She is dedicated to sharing her skills and knowledge, and takes great joy in empowering others through creative expression. Outline Explore the graceful folk art of Chinese paper cutting using scissors. You'll learn to fold and cut paper into intricate designs creating beautful paper pieces that symbolize luck, happiness, and celebration. Take your paper cutting skills to the next level using craft knives to create detailed and delicate patterns. This session focuses on precision techniques to bring out the fine artistry of this centuries-old tradition. No prior experience is needed and all materials will be included. -- High quality artist led workshops are at the heart of what we do here at Mission Gallery. Every ticket purchase contributes towards our Outreach Programme and supports fair compensation for our talented artists. Due to our venue’s capacity, spaces are limited. If you book onto one of our workshops we would ask you to honour your commitment to attend. We aim for our workshops to be as accessible as possible, but would ask that you make a donation on the day if you can. Gloucester Cathedral is an ancient and spectacular mega-church in southern England, which became a place of pilgrimage 1300 years ago, and houses King Edward II of England. The church&rsquo;s Gothic architecture is beautiful, very spacious inside, with multiple different uses of size space, three floors to visit. The corridor outside the church is very grand, and it was used as a filming location for Harry Potter in 2002 and 2008 and is well worth visiting.
