Citizens Pro-Social Pistol Skills (Slidell, LA) is a comprehensive two-day course designed for individuals who carry a concealed handgun or are plain clothes or off-duty police officers. This intensive training program focuses on equipping participants with the essential skills necessary to effectively defend against a deadly criminal attack, all while operating within the boundaries of the law.

Led by lead instructor Aqil Qadir and assisted by other CSA instructors, the course covers a wide range of topics including mental awareness, defensive mindset, proper pistol concealment, clothing considerations, effective gun handling techniques under stress, rapid presentation from concealed carry, high speed accuracy, precision shooting, malfunction fixing and reloading techniques, shooting with one hand, shooting with cognitive load, tactical anatomy, and proper skill development practices.

To enroll in the course, completion of a state handgun carry permit class or a similar pistol shooting class is required. Additionally, participants should have experience in safely handling, drawing, and holstering a pistol. A quality pistol, preferably a full or compact-sized gun with a minimum caliber of 9mm or .38 Special, is necessary. It is also recommended to bring a second gun in case of any malfunctions.

Other essential items for the course include a quality strong side hip or appendix holster that completely covers the trigger guard, a purposefully designed belt to securely attach the holster, eye and hearing protection, a ball cap or brimmed hat, comfortable clothing and shoes, rain gear, bug repellant, sunscreen, and a cooler for drinks and lunch.

The course will take place at the F.I.T.S Indoor Range & Gun Shop in Slidell, LA, from January 28 to January 29, 2024. Tickets can be purchased for $395. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a completion certificate.
