Join us on Saturday 12th July 2025 for a historical geography themed walk in Mount’s Bay, "Past and Present Climate Stories From Mount's Bay".
During the event, we will delve into the rich local stories there surrounding the submerged forest, the historical impact of tsunamis, and the development of new flood defences. This event was immensely successful last year and has been enhanced to provide an expanded experience, we would love to see you there!
The £15 Climate Walk 10:45- 2:45 booking ticket is non-refundable, and includes delicious Ploughman's lunch (meat/veggie) and a hot or cold drink at the Mount View Hotel at Longrock.
Times shown include travelling from Truro Station. The walk is 10.45-2.45, including an hour lunch stop. We will get the train 
from Truro

The walk starts promptly from 
Penzance train station at 10.45. 
The walk to 
Long Rock beach car park
 is 
40-45 minutes
 (2 miles) on a flat, easy walking surface. Toilets are available at Penzance train station (This section will be from 
10:45-midday
 with stops).
Further along 
Long Rock beach
, we leave the coast path, for a short pavement walk to the Mount View Hotel, where we will stop for our halfway point for a drink and rest. We would aim to be there just after
 midday, leaving
 
promptly 
a
t 1.15pm
. They have disabled toilets and a great range of drinks and snacks you can pay for in addition to your food order (you won't need it, Doreen does a wonderful lunch). Dogs are welcome on a lead.
We will re-join the coast path at Longrock Beach car park promptly at 
1.30 
and walk 
40-45 minutes
 (2 miles) back to 
Penzance station
 (This section will be from 
1:30-2:45pm
 with stops).
We will take the train back to Truro 
leaving Penzance
 at 
3.15
pm
 and arriving back 
in Truro
 for 
3.53
pm
.
PLEASE NOTE: These train times will be confirmed here in late March when available, but unlikely to change. The walk will remain starting at 10:45.
