COURSE HIGHLIGHTS
Personal security is a fundamental human need, but ultimately an individual responsibility. In the moment of truth, the “lifeguards” of society simply won’t be there to protect us. We are, in effect, on our own.
Yet violence is never random, and even the most desperate predator is careful in selecting his prey. All “Bad Guys” — from the street predator to those who use charm and persuasion to create opportunities to victimize — follow predictable patterns. You can identify their behavior in advance through a few easily spotted indicators — but only if you know what to look for.
This course will teach your teens specifically what to look for, and how to manage their own personal security - anywhere, anytime.
How to recognize warning indicators of danger, especially if you are being targeted by a "persuasion predator"
How to recognize and manage “interviews” that often precede an attack
What situational factors are critical to control, and how to never relinquish control over them
How to use improvised weapons such as pens, magazines, and cell phones as powerful force-multipliers to incapacitate an aggressor from close range
Defense against the most common grabs, holds, and chokes including how to get someone off you, instantly, who's pinning you to the ground
