Join renowned writer and filmmaker Curtis Chin as he discusses his new memoir, "Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant," at the American Writers Museum in Chicago. Chin, co-founder of the Asian American Writers' Workshop, takes readers on a journey through his coming of age in 1980s Detroit, a time marked by xenophobia, the AIDS epidemic, and the Reagan Revolution. Set against the backdrop of his family's beloved Chinese restaurant, Chin's memoir explores his path to finding his voice as a writer and activist. Dr. Masum Momaya, Director of Narrative Change for The Asian American Foundation, will engage in conversation with Chin about his inspiring story. Grant Park is also a good place to visit for free. The most common people you see are locals doing outdoor sports. Running is very popular and can be seen at different times of the day. There are also some people walking their dogs.
