The Department of Art Faculty Lecture Series presents an exciting event featuring Jack Tom, a renowned Illustrator and Professor of Art. This captivating lecture will take place on Tuesday, Oct 17, 2023, at 6:30 pm, at the Visual & Performing Arts Center, room 144, located at Western CT State University's Westside Campus in Danbury. Jack Tom brings a wealth of experience to the table as an award-winning graphic designer, illustrator, and educator. Throughout his career, he has taught at esteemed institutions such as New York University, Syracuse University, and Marywood University, among others. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor of Illustration at Western Connecticut State University. Originally hailing from San Francisco, Jack's move to New York City in 1977 marked the beginning of a successful journey as a staff designer/art director at respected publications like McCall's Magazine, CBS, and Business Week magazine. These positions allowed him to collaborate with some of the industry's most talented illustrators and photographers.

Notably, Jack Tom has made significant contributions to the creative community. He has served as President for the Connecticut Art Directors Club, and as a Board Member/Advisor for three Illustration Conferences (ICON3, 4, & 5).
