A Response to the 2024 Counter Protests through Zine Making and Theatre:  Stories of Solidarity explores experiences of solidarity and community in Liverpool, following the 2024 summer riots. This creative research project is an ongoing collaboration with Afloat Theatre, Asylum Link Merseyside, and the University of Liverpool. It has used theatre and zine-making with asylum seekers, refugees and is reaching out to other community groups in Liverpool affected during this time including Abdullah Quilliam Mosque, Al Rahma Mosque, Spellow Lane Library, Granby Winter Garden. The exhibition provides an insight into the ongoing project and invites you to participate and respond to the work. Opening hours are 12:00-4:00pm each day. Stories of Solidarity seeks to understand how participatory and creative arts can support those targeted by xenophobic discourses in articulating their stories in ways that can feed into broader debates. By exploring the networks of solidarity in place, the research allows previously unheard voices to contribute their creativity and oral testimonies, helping to develop a deeper understanding of how these processes unfolded during the summer disorder in 2024. Free entry. The Exhibition will be on display from Saturday 21st June at 12:00pm until Thursday 26th June 2025 at 2:00pm. Opening hours are 12:00-4:00pm each day. The Bridewell Studios and Gallery also presents  The Inquiry Room , an exhibition curated by artist Sarah Leader.  The Inquiry Room  is a carefully designed exhibition space that examines a body of information around the phenomena of unidentified deceased human lives, including the possessions found with them. The exhibition will provide a glimpse into the challenges of how sensitive information can be presented to the public, in which to raise awareness and appeal. It also seeks to pay tribute to some of these unnamed individuals: featuring representations from multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary artists and experts working in the field of forensics, jewellery, tattoos and textiles.
