Experience a night of innovative music at the Gaucher/Rafiq/Sharif with Balcetis/Ruth & New Chrome Mennonites event on March 30, 2024, in Edmonton. Organized by OKRA, this all-ages event will take place at Mile Zero Dance Society on 78 Avenue Northwest. Dan Gaucher from Vancouver Island seamlessly transitions between structured compositions and ethereal improvisations, while Jairus Sharif from Calgary infuses his multi-instrumental talents into captivating improvisations that blend underground hip-hop rhythms with the vigor of free jazz. Alongside Mustafa Rafiq from Edmonton, they will debut as a trio, creating spontaneous compositions and free improvisations. The evening will also feature performances by the Balcetis Ruth Duo and New Chrome Mennonites. Doors open at 7:00 PM, with performances starting promptly at 7:30 PM. Tickets for this unique musical experience are priced at $20.
