Join the Gobble Gobble Hike - South Mountain Reservation on November 24, 2023, in Maplewood. This exciting event takes place at the South Mountain Reservation Essex County Dog Park. The hike will cover a distance of 5 miles, exploring the beautiful trails of the reservation. Led by Risa Olinsky, a Maplewood resident who has a deep passion for the reservation, this beginner-friendly hike will take approximately 3 hours to complete. Along the way, participants will have the opportunity to walk on newly blazed trails, as well as the Fairy Trail and Hemlock Falls. Don't forget to dress appropriately for the weather and wear hiking shoes or boots, as some areas of the trails can be muddy and rocky. It is also recommended to bring your own water and a light snack for energy. Children are welcome to join, accompanied by their parent or guardian. Friendly dogs are also welcome but must remain on a leash at all times. Carpool options are available from the Maplewood Train Station, but reservations must be made in advance with Risa O.
