The HuRaCaN 300 XIV is the ultimate off-road endurance experience in the state of Florida. Participants can choose from two route options, each offering a unique and challenging adventure. The routes cover over 100 miles of singletrack, as well as remote forest roads, abandoned paths, and some pavement sections. Riders will pass through stunning forests, The Cross Florida Greenway, two mountain bike parks, and tackle some of Florida's longest and toughest climbs. The original HuRaCaN route spans 370 miles of the most challenging terrain in Florida, while the HuRaCaN Lite is a 340-mile route designed for riders with skinnier tires. Registration for the event includes access to a Google Drive folder containing all necessary route information. Riders are encouraged to reserve a campsite at Shangri La Campground, the starting point of the event. The HuRaCaN Challenge is a loop, allowing participants to finish where they began, covering approximately 300 miles in total. The event will take place on February 3rd, 2024. The entry fee supports the development and maintenance of the routes. No prizes are awarded, as the event is about honor and bragging rights. Riders must complete the loop on their bike, following the provided GPX route within a 100-foot deviation. Drafting and assisting fellow riders is allowed, and the use of GPS and cell phones for navigation is permitted. Safety is of utmost importance, and riders are required to carry a satellite tracking unit. Additional donations to support the development of new routes are greatly appreciated.
