The II Open Conference of the Legados project will take place on April 10th, 2024, at the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona. This event, organized by Fundación Gabeiras and MACBA, aims to address the contemporary issue of the precarious situation of older artists and their legacies. Building on the previous session held at the Museo Reina Sofía, the focus will be on advancing the conservation and care of contemporary art, as well as improving the conditions of artists. Representatives from various public and private entities, as well as the artistic and foundational community of Catalonia, will share experiences to address the challenges faced by contemporary legacies in the region. The event will also present progress on a legal report prepared by Gabeiras' Cultural Law department, offering solutions within the current legal framework or through legislative amendments. The conference, supported by the Ministry of Culture, the IAC, and the PAAC, is open to the public with prior registration. The complete video will be available on the Foundation's YouTube channel afterward. This initiative is led by Fundación Gabeiras in partnership with the IAC and several other cultural institutions.
