LaToya Ruby Frazier, an accomplished artist and advocate, will be joining the Tanner Humanities Center to share her profound work and shed light on the experiences of Black American life. Born in Braddock, Pennsylvania in 1982, Frazier's artistic practice encompasses a diverse range of mediums, including photography, video, performance, installation, and books. Central to her work is the intersection of social justice, cultural change, and commentary on the American experience. Frazier collaborates with the individuals featured in her artwork, utilizing their stories to tackle subjects such as industrialism, Rust Belt revitalization, environmental justice, healthcare accessibility, clean water availability, workers' and human rights, as well as family and communal history.
Her commitment to the legacy of social documentary work from the 1930s and conceptual photography from the 1960s and '70s allows her to delve into urgent social and political issues that shape our everyday lives. This thought-provoking event, "Latoya Ruby Frazier - Using Photography for Social Change," is a must-attend for anyone interested in the power of art to drive positive societal transformation. The Utah State Capitol is also a place worth visiting. The Capitol Building is quite large and is the most important administrative seat of the Utah state government. Many of the designs in the building are quite interesting. You can apply to visit here, but it is quite difficult.

This was our first stop when we arrived in Salt Lake City. We have friends who have lived in this area for many years. This is where the first Mormon settlers arrived. There are many monuments describing this history, and there is also a visitor center with a short film about this history.

Salt Lake City Tabernacle

The Great Chapel is also a huge gathering place. It is located near the Temple of the Demon Sect. The chapel here is also a favorite gathering place for local Americans. The decoration and design inside the chapel are very distinctive. I like some of the styles here very much.
