Join the Lino Printing Festive Cards workshop with Koot at Salts Works in Shipley. This beginner to intermediate level workshop offers the opportunity to design and print your own seasonal (or not-so-seasonal) greetings cards. Using Adana table-top printing presses, you will create one or two-color cards from lino blocks that you have carved yourself. Explore different lino cutting tools and learn how to sharpen them. Each participant will have their own dedicated press to use. The workshop will use water-soluble inks, so please wear appropriate clothing as staining may occur. Aprons and all materials will be provided. Take home a stack of your printed cards. Koot, an experienced artist specializing in old-school techniques, will guide you through the workshop. With a background in graphics and printmaking, Koot has produced album covers for popular rock bands. In recent years, he has focused on printmaking, creating lino cuts and prints on traditional etching presses. Don't miss this fun and irreverent session with one of the most creative tutors around. Remember to bring clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty. Please tie back long hair and avoid wearing loose garments. Lunch from Saltaire's Edward St Bakery is included in the ticket price. All proceeds from this workshop support the People Powered Press' work with community groups in the Bradford district.
