This unique experience, taking place on January 19th, offers visitors the chance to explore a visually stunning installation where they are surrounded by a vibrant array of local plants transformed into hyper-real animated forms. Through the use of MAP mima's state-of-the-art sound and projection facilities, participants will feel as if they have stepped into a lush greenhouse filled with oversized, blossoming bulbs. By walking around the space, the plants come to life, captivating audiences of all ages. Inspired by the remarkable ecological makeup of the Lake Macquarie region, Zika's installation pays homage to the area's native flora, including the intriguing shapes of plants such as the Gymea Lily, Pigface Lily, Magenta Lilly Pilly, and Swamp Mahogany. This event is not to be missed by nature enthusiasts and art lovers alike. Wheelchair accessible venues, all-gender toilets, and limited parking near the Cockle Creek Boat Ramp are available. This event is a collaboration with Deaf Games 2024 and is supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW. Tickets go on sale on November 30th, 2023.
