Join three members of Feminista Melbourne, Nazanin, Marzieh, and Parisima as they host a group collage workshop at MPavilion 10. This workshop will showcase our connections and stories through the collaborative and accessible medium of collage. Collage is a powerful tool for communication on social, political, and environmental causes, allowing participants to advocate for their chosen cause. Nazanin, Marzieh, and Parisima will guide participants in creating collages that highlight the importance of connection and community. Through sharing stories and creating together, participants will build a temporary community center of power. No specific skill level is required, as long as participants can safely use scissors and glue sticks. All ages are welcome to join us in this inclusive and empowering workshop. Feminista Melbourne is a grassroots collective of artists and activists who came together during the Woman Life Freedom protests in Melbourne. With backgrounds in various design and creative fields, our members have utilized art forms such as Street Art, Public Art Installation, Graphic Design, Collage, Sculpture, and Performance to amplify our cause. As immigrant women, we initially faced challenges in claiming space in the city, but our perseverance has led to connection, healing, and empowerment. We strive to make our events and material as inclusive and accessible as possible. If you have any ideas or suggestions to help us improve our programming, please email us at info@mpavilion.org. Our staff is onsite during events to assist with any accessibility queries. We can also provide Auslan interpreters and other forms of audio accessibility upon request. Wheelchair access is available from the paved paths in the park to MPavilion 2023, with a short distance on the grass. Accessible toilets can be found in the Queen Victoria Gardens on Linlithgow Avenue. Limited seating is available inside MPavilion, and additional seating can be arranged for scheduled events. If you have specific seating requirements or other accessibility needs, please email us in advance at info@mpavilion.org. Assistance animals are always welcome at MPavilion events.
