PLATFORM is a highly anticipated quarterly event hosted by the Orlando Museum of Art, designed to challenge and expand the boundaries of local artists' artistic practices. Taking place on Friday, October 27th, 2023, from 6 to 9 PM, PLATFORM showcases the vibrant artistic community of Orlando, bringing together creatives, enthusiasts, and advocates of the arts. This exclusive one-night-only event offers a unique opportunity for individuals to engage in an inclusive exchange of ideas and inspiration.
The museum's rotunda will feature a curated selection of artworks spanning various mediums, including visual arts, performance art, digital media, and sound design. Artists who wish to submit their work for consideration can find more information and submit applications at omart.org/events/platform/. The submission deadline is Friday, October 6th, 2023, at 5 PM.
Admission to PLATFORM is free for OMA Members, while not-yet-members can take advantage of the early bird rate of $10 until September 4th, 2023. After this date, the ticket price for not-yet-members will be $15. Please note that a valid membership is required to attend the event. Advanced registration is highly recommended, and guests should provide their Member ID number when prompted for an Access Code to redeem complimentary tickets. Proof of membership and tickets will be required for admission.
Throughout the evening, guests can enjoy the lively sounds of DJ No Por Na' Music and indulge in culinary delights from El Tinto Catering and Maya Rosa Catering. A bar serving a selection of beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase. The event is proud to be supported by partners Emerald Gardenia and Ivanhoe Brewery.

New Year&#39;s Eve Trip to SeaWorld Orlando

This morning, I departed from the InterContinental Orlando Hotel and took the Shatou Bus to SeaWorld Orlando, embarking on a New Year&#39;s Eve journey that combined fun and excitement. Upon entering the park, I could immediately sense the marks of time on the facilities; they lacked the glamorous sophistication of newer amusement parks, but this retro feel did not diminish the enjoyment at all. It&#39;s worth noting that this park was built in 1973, making it 50 years old. Creating a marine-themed park of this scale half a century ago is truly a remarkable achievement.

The marine life exhibit is the park&#39;s highlight. Groups of orcas swam gracefully in the pools, exuding a powerful presence; sea lions and seals were adorable, and in the interactive area, you could feed and interact with them up close&mdash;they were gentle and cute; and agile dolphins occasionally leaped out of the water, tracing beautiful arcs, eliciting cheers from the audience. Besides the marine life viewing, the roller coasters here are a pleasant surprise, with four or five different kinds: a rapid acceleration roller coaster, a seated roller coaster with a plunging and flipping ride, and a suspended roller coaster with a soaring overhead speed &ndash; each one is thrilling and sure to appeal to teenagers.

With Christmas and New Year&#39;s celebrations coinciding, the park is filled with a festive atmosphere. The dazzling lights and warm decorations add to the joy of the visit. Saying goodbye to the old year and welcoming 2026 in the laughter-filled marine world is a truly unforgettable experience. The park&#39;s ticket price is excellent value, offering both gentle interactive rides for younger children and thrilling attractions for teenagers and adults alike, ensuring fun for all ages.
