Thank you for registering for our TMS Members Workshop – Playing with Colour and Pattern with Jill Rumble Date: SATURDAY 5th April - Time: 10am – 4pm Venue: Lions Club Hall, 8 Russell Drysdale St., East Gosford Come along and join me for a fun day of playing with colour and pattern on mostly fabric/textiles and a little bit of paper. We will be experimenting with wax, stencils, masking tape and the many things that you have in your personal stash to make unique pieces of cloth - starting points for future works. At the end of the day (time permitting) we will be adding stitch to our art works - a few threads and your sewing kit will come in handy. So bring along your creative, experimental self to explore the possibilities with me. Colour and Pattern requirements list The Makers Studio will supply a range of fabrics, paper, paints and gesso, plastic bags etc. however...... The idea is for you to bring along things you have at home that you may or may not use regularly, so Please just bring along whatever you have at home. Don’t go out and buy things that you may never use again. The aim of the class is to find a use for all of those things in your stash that you haven’t used or don’t know how to. We will be working of fabric A4 – A3 in size. It is a day of Play so bring along any of the following you have at home. Scraps of any fabrics that you have and would like to try – Scrim/gauze, silk, synthetic etc in white of very pale coloursSmall amounts of paper strong enough to take a lot of fluid – watercolour or mixed media6 – 8 tubes of acrylic paint in the colour scheme that you want to use PLUS some metallics if you have them. You can use water based fabric paints if you have them but please do not go out and buy them especially for this class.Stamps – rubber, hand carvedStencils – at least one with the same design all over, plus 3 – 4 others if you have them on handTexture things – with grids and lines, old tablet packets etcWax crayons – children’s ones are fineOil Pastels – again cheaper children’s ones are fineWater Soluble Markers (Textas)Brushes – flat brushes are best in a variety of sizes – 1cm up to 3-4 cm – just cheap onesFoam roller – no bigger than 10 cm. available in hardware storesStencil brush if you have one. Again, don’t buy if you don’t have one alreadyHand stitching threads and your sewing kit.Please wear closed in shoes and bring your lunch. Tea/coffee/milk/morning tea will be available at the studio.
