Join the fun at Shotgun Salute 2023, a clay shoot event and dinner held in Athens, AL. This annual gathering brings together clay sport enthusiasts and amateurs, all in support of our senior veterans. The 2nd edition of this exciting event aims to raise funds for the local senior veterans in need.

The day begins with team check-in and equipment check at 1:30 PM on Friday, September 15th. Get the chance to meet our heroes and mingle with fellow participants. Remember to bring your own guns and shells as you gear up for the shoot, which kicks off at 2:00 PM. Compete with other teams and enjoy the friendly competition.

Afterwards, take a break and relax at the barn while you wait for the BBQ dinner to be served. Live entertainment by Huntsville's In the Mood Big Swing Band will keep you entertained as you savor the delicious meal. Don't forget to try your luck at the silent auction, where you can bid on a variety of items. Feel free to bring your own drinks to enjoy during the dinner.

Shotgun Salute 2023 is a special event held on National POW/MIA Recognition Day. It serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by servicemen still missing in action. According to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, there are 81,446 still missing. The goal of this event is to raise $81,446, honoring each missing individual.

The biggest feature of the Acropolis Museum is her spatial design, which is equivalent to making the Acropolis as a whole a space easy. The Athens Archaeological Museum is the largest museum in Greece, with a collection of nearly 20,000 pieces, covering prehistoric to late ancient artifacts, and is the epitome of ancient Greek civilization. However, the Caryatids in the Acropolis are not authentic. The authentic ones are in the nearby Acropolis Museum and... the British Museum

Like most Greek temples, this temple was also used as a treasury.
1. It was built in 447 BC to replace the old Parthenon (destroyed by the Persians in 480 BC).
2. For a while, it was the treasury of the Delian League (which later evolved into the Athenian Empire).
3. In the 6th century AD, the Parthenon was converted into a church dedicated to the Virgin Mary (the original Athena was also a virgin).
4. In the early 1460s, after being conquered by the Ottoman Turks, it was used as a mosque.
5. It was used as a gunpowder magazine by the Turkish army in 1687 and was unfortunately severely damaged in an explosion.
6. By 1800, only half of the Parthenon statues survived. After obtaining approval from the Ottoman government, British Ambassador Sir Elgin began to transport half of the surviving statues back to Britain at his own expense starting in 1801, and they began to be exhibited in the British Museum in 1817.
