Retreat
 for Racialized Bodies
The 
"Pause, Breathe, and Celebrate Your Body" retreat
 offers a vital intervention. This retreat will create a space for racialized individuals to heal from trauma, reconnect with their bodies, and celebrate their inherent worth. By fostering body acceptance, emotional wellness, and leadership development, this initiative aims to create lasting positive change for racialized communities while empowering them to become leaders and agents of change within their communities.
About our Host Nicole Brown-Faulknor:
Nicole is the founder of Wound 2 Wings Trauma + Psychotherapy services, Child & Youth Counsellor, Trauma Consultant, Author, and Trauma Survivor. Nicole is also an active member of her community as a Chair of Afropolitan Canada.
Day 1: Friday Evening - Arrival, Grounding, and Community Building

Welcome kit: Journals, healing tools, and affirmations.
Icebreaker activity to help participants feel comfortable.

Opening Ceremony & Intentions
Circle of introductions: Sharing one word or intention for the retreat.
Guided meditation: "Reclaiming Your Body and Voice" (Trauma-informed approach).
Setting a collective intention for the retreat journey.

Grounding Practices & Breathwork
Guided trauma-informed breathwork session to connect to the body and reduce stress.
Introduction to grounding and somatic healing.
9:30 PM - 10:30 PM

Evening Sound Healing & Guided Relaxation
Sound bath with crystal bowls, drums, and chimes for deep relaxation.
A guided somatic body scan meditation for grounding before rest.
Day 2: Saturday - Healing, Leadership, and Empowerment (DAY RETREAT)

Interactive session on setting healthy boundaries using somatic awareness.
Role-playing exercises to practice assertiveness and leadership.
