The London Sketch Club https://londonsketchclub.com/ was founded in 1898 (on April Fool’s Day!) by a group of illustrator artists including Dudley Hardly, Phil May, Tom Browne, Cecil Aldin and John Hassall. The current President of the Club, Tony Cohen will give a talk at 6-8pm on 28th April at the London Sketch Club, 7 Dilke St., Chelsea, about the history of the Club, its extraordinary members and their work, illustrated with many examples from the archives. By the 1930s the Club was flourishing with a reputation not only for its entertaining evenings but also for its successful artist members such as Edmund Dulac, W. Heath Robinson and H. M. Bateman. Lavish fancy dress balls were held together with the Chelsea Arts Club and exhibitions were held. In 1957 the Club moved to its current home at 7 Dilke Street, originally built for Victorian portrait painter John Collier. The studio walls are decorated with silhouettes, some brought from the two previous premises, of Club presidents dating back to the early years which demonstrate the club’s rich and illustrious history. Copies of the book, The London Sketch Club, A Visual Celebration, will be on sale after the talk. Tickets include a glass of wine. NB. The meeting is at the London Sketch Club – not the Chelsea Arts Club) The meeting will be on the first floor at the Sketch club, and there is no lift. Chelsea Society events are for our members, and when booking tickets members should use the name in which they are known to the Society (if in doubt please check with the Secretary). Members may also buy tickets for guests.

Highly recommend the British Museum for at least one day tour. We arranged a tour of the British Museum on the last day of the 10-day UK tour. Found that we arranged three hours too little. Fortunately, we have participated in the teacher&#39;s explanation group, through the teacher&#39;s wonderful explanation, we know a lot of the history and origin of the previously blurred cultural relics. Let us have a vivid human history lesson at the British Museum. Seeing the long-awaited kiln, Tang Sancai, saw the exquisite memory of Chinese historical relics. Teacher Bilan also uploaded a few photos of the kiln after the team ended, so I kept a precious memory and beautiful photo in regret.

Westminster Abbey is actually a collection of churches and cemeteries (royal and some celebrities). The building is magnificent and the interior is well maintained. It is worth seeing. The ticket purchased on Trip.com is convenient to use. Just scan the QR code at the entrance of the church to enter. There are too many people. Queues for an hour to enter. The church provides free Chinese voice interpreters.

This was my second visit, this time with my family. It was great to overlook half of London and the Thames. The only drawback was the weather was not good enough. The scenery was very different on sunny and cloudy days.

The Queen&#39;s favorite palace is very luxurious inside, but you are not allowed to take photos, you can only take photos outside. When I entered, I took a photo but was stopped by the staff. Knowing the daily life of the royal family, Windsor Castle is generally very quiet.
