Merel Smitt is een Rotterdamse kunstenaar. Ze maakt kunstprojecten op bijzondere locaties en in de publieke ruimte die ons dagelijkse leven bevragen en ontregelen. Momenteel werkt Merel als artist-in-residence in de Centrale Bibliotheek in Rotterdam aan haar nieuwe stadsproject 'The Waiting City'. Zine workshop Gewapend met kleurrijk papier, stiften, glitters, scharen en lijm maken we kleurrijke zines. Het thema van de zines is WACHTEN.
We maken zines over alle dingen waar we op wachten in ons leven, hoe we onze wachttijd doorbrengen, hoe we samen kunnen wachten en wat wachten voor ons betekent.
Wat is een zine? Een zine is een mini-tijdschrift dat je zelf maakt met plaatjes die je vindt in tijdschriften of kranten, tekeningen, zelfgeschreven teksten en eigenlijk alles wat jij mooi vindt.Hier is geen ervaring voor nodig, want je mag je creatief uitleven op jouw manier.
Tijdens het zine maken is er ruimte voor ontmoeting en gesprek maar dat is zeker niet verplicht.
