Are you curious about the sport of curling? This is your chance to learn and experience the excitement of curling for yourself! Discover how this winter sport can make the winter season seem too short. Whether you were inspired by the Olympics or have always been fascinated by curling, now is the perfect time to join us at one of our Try Curling events hosted by Mayfield Curling Club (MCC).

During this crash-course-bucket-list experience, you will have the opportunity to learn the basics of curling, including delivery, sweeping, and strategy. You'll even get to play a mini game to put your new skills to the test. This two-hour event is open to new curlers aged 14 and above and costs $70 per person. Please note that registration and payment are required in advance.

When attending the event, it is essential to bring a pair of clean rubber-soled athletic shoes to wear on the ice. This helps us maintain the ice's cleanliness and prevents any tracking of debris from outdoor shoes. It is recommended to avoid EVA-soled shoes, as they do not provide sufficient traction on the ice. Comfortable attire suitable for curling is also advised, such as pants that allow for easy movements like lunges and layered clothing to adapt to the ice's temperature, which is typically around 40 degrees.
