EJC Presents: Yoga for Renewal is an invigorating and introspective yoga class hosted by Sido Surkis, a certified yoga teacher. This gentle yoga session is designed to guide individuals on a journey of self-discovery and reconnection with their body and soul. As the season transitions into a period of inner reflection and the anticipation of new beginnings, this class aims to create a space for personal growth and renewal.

During the session, participants will engage in various stretching exercises that not only promote physical flexibility but also provide ample room for personal development. The class is open to individuals of all experience levels, including beginners and seasoned mature yogis. It will be held every Tuesday, starting on September 19th, at 10 am in the Yoga Room at The Eastside Jewish Commons in Portland.

To ensure a comfortable experience, participants are advised to wear suitable attire and bring their own yoga mat. The class fee is $10 per session, and registration is required due to limited availability. While drop-ins are welcome, it's important to note that the doors will be locked promptly at 10 am.

Sido Surkis, the instructor, has a deep-rooted passion for yoga, influenced by her upbringing in a family of yogis. She acquired her Teacher Training Certificate in the spring of 2019 and specializes in leading trauma-informed and light-hearted yoga sessions. Sido's teachings incorporate principles from both Yoga and Judaism, allowing students to embrace their unique strengths and find balance in their practice. Her inclusive approach celebrates individual differences while fostering an environment of growth and celebration.
