Getting There

There are 2 international airports, Incheon International and Gimpo International, that serve Seoul. There are no direct flights to Seoul, only connecting ones via cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Qingdao. Changdeokgung Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is a stunning palace that was previously the royal residence of the Joseon Dynasty for over 200 years and is the best-preserved Joseon Palace out of all. The palace also has a secret garden with landscaped lawns, decorated pavilions, and a lotus pond. 

Located between Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace is the Bukchon Hanok Village, one of the most scenic spots in Seoul. Here you can find traditional Hanok houses which date all the way back to the Joseon Dynasty. 

Standing tall at 480m above sea level, the N Seoul Tower is an observation deck that provides panoramic views of the city atop Namsan Mountain. Enthusiasts can climb to the peak, but for those who are not too keen, fret not- there is a cable car service to take you there!

Dongdaemun is the heart of the city’s shopping culture. It’s got a 24-hour shopping complex, an underground shopping center with boutiques and thrift stores and many dining outlets as well. Myeongdong shopping street is where one can find all the popular South Korean cosmetic brands like Innisfree, Etude House, and MISSHA as well as all the popular retail chains, department stores, and restaurants. 

Common Ground is another shopping mall with all the trendy shops and also a great place to hang out or have photoshoots.

Everland is where you need to be if you’re looking for a unique theme park experience. It is South Korea’s largest outdoor theme park and has five exciting zones of rides and attractions. 

The must-try street food in Seoul includes tteokbokki, hotteok, kimbap, and the classic chicken skewers!

Tip: An exciting activity you can do is rail-biking through the countryside. The first half of the course consists of a 6km leisurely cycle, and the second half takes you to the Gangchon Station where a free shuttle will bring you back to where you started.
