Chaweng Beach
It’s been a few weeks now since my husband and I stayed at the Dara Samui and it feels like a beautiful hazy dream. We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights and each day we became more and more relaxed, choosing to have most of our meals there, and to spend our days between the pool and the sea. The hotel has a lunch time happy hour special on their Thai dishes, which are delicious and come in generous portions. We did the Thai cooking course with the head chef and that was a really fun way to spend a morning. The staff were friendly and helpful and the whole place has a really good vibe. You can tell they are trying to up their game post-COVID. I would definitely recommend it.

Advantages: French pastoral decoration style deep my heart The room facing the sea Pull the door directly to the sea The kind of unsatisfactory! The hotel waiter is also very enthusiastic. Especially recommend his restaurant. The chef is afraid that it will not be Michelin level. Even if you don't go out to the hotel, you won't be tired. Haha, and the toiletries in his home taste very advanced. Porridge, because we booked a suite more spacious when booking. Waiting for 2 adults and 1 child to stay, they put an extra 1.2 single bed next to the big bed. If it is a normal room, he said that it is not good for an extra bed. Disadvantages: The drinking water provided by the hotel has a salty smell. It is not used to drinking. It is all 711 to buy water. The hotel has no parking lot. It is not good to park.
Idyllic Samui Beach Villa Resort

Choeng Mon Beach
Well we are just about to leave this Idyllic place and what a fabulous time we have had. So this villa is perfect as it’s about 10 minutes out of the hassle and bustle and right away from the main area , you do need to either be happy to pay for taxis (£9) each way to Fisherman Village, main area that’s close by or hire a car. We choose taxi, there are lots around. Take the Idyllic card and just show them when you want a taxi, if you give the team notice they will drive you in and you can get a taxi back, Idyllic will charge you to take you but they are so lovely. The villa is gorgeous and the team cannot do enough to make sure you have a lovely time. They are so friendly and will help you with what ever you need. The manager and lovely lady takes time to talk to you and make sure everything is ok. No Restaurant or bar just villa and a private beach. So as long as your all prepared you cannot have a bad experience. We had 3 adults a 17 year old a 19 year old and 3 and 5 year old and we have all had an amazing time. Sad to be leaving and Thank You For looking after us so well… Tracy Grunwell xx

Hua Thanon Beach
Great place to stay if you just want to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Location is a bit remote, so you will need some sort of transportation to get to places like bars and restaurants. The pool is amazing as well as the view in morning during sunrise! Rooms are large and well equipped. Would love to come back again! Also, if you have the chance, say hi to the house cat at the reception 🥰

Chaweng Noi
Away from the hustle of central Chaweng, so is a good spot to be based for quiet times and used as a base to explore the island. Beachfront pool villas are nice, large and great views of the ocean. Private pool is a bonus and well worth the upgrade. Hotel was busy when I stayed and everyone seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves. The pool isn’t the largest but plentiful for the amount of rooms. Don’t forget, there are the villas with private pools, so a fair number of guests will be in their own area. Access to the beach is not directly in front of the hotel, but that’s a good thing otherwise I would be hearing everyone in front of my villa each day. Access is the side of the resort just past the restaurant. Along this stretch of beach has a few other hotel bars and restaurants to eat and drink in and if you head to the furtherest headland point, and head inland, you will come across a handful of bars and restaurants. As many people have said, the hotel is next to a road - but like most hotels in Samui, it’s just the design of the island. You can avoid the main road for your walk to the local area by going along the stretch of beach. And when you are on the island, why wouldn’t you want to walk along the beach?! So don’t listen to those comments about nothing nearby. If you want the hustle of the nightlife, Chaweng central is 15 minutes away. Get on the shuttle or order a taxi for 300thb. It’s a 4 star hotel, trying to get back to some kind of normal after covid and over time, I am sure the owners will reinvest their money to make improvements where some other guests have commented about in other posts but I do think it is dependent on the room type you book and/or are assigned as most of them are fine. Give it a go, it is worth it. I’ve been to many hotels over the years - more than the average Joe - and it’s only recently where I’ve checked in and out of two hotels on the same day in all these years.

Het personeel was zo lief en behulpzaam. Vooral Kea stond altijd voor ons klaar! De kamers werden dagelijks goed bijgehouden. Het hele hotel werd dagelijks goed bijgehouden. Uitgebreid ontbijt! En super lekkere lunch, avondeten en cocktails. Mooi schoon zwembad. Kortom perfect!!! Mooi strand en warm blauw water. Werd elke dag schoongemaakt.
