My friend recommended this hotel and it was great! The front desk staff were very responsive, patient, and thorough with all our questions. There are tons of food options nearby, and transportation is super convenient with both a subway and bus station close by. Huacheng Square is beautiful, and the iconic Canton Tower is also in the vicinity.

Lots of eatery nearby, ranging from hotpot’s to bubble tea, shopping malls and etc. Even late at night at wee hours there are still shops operating and you definitely won’t go hungry. Easy to get around When we were leaving for the airport The concierge was kind enough to arrange transport for us at a reasonable rate even without prior booking, the 2 x 6 seaters cars arrived in 5 minutes. Total 2 of them. Talk about efficiency..

The room felt a little old and run down, and the television had a grainy screen with the sound for each channel varying greatly. We didnt ask reception to fix it as it was late and we intended to watch only for a while before going to bed. The bed and pillows were fantastic though. Breakfast spread was limited but there were 3 to 4 live cooking stations which made things interesting allowing guests to try their local stuff. Their guest service were responsive to emails and friendly. Lots of small eateries nearby though so an excellent location especially if you enjoy late night snacks.. about 6 mins walk to the metro, which is direct from the airport which is a huge plus. Staff service generally impeccable and lobby staff were quick to ask guest if they required help. Apart from the rather run down room and the grainy tv everything else was good.

Absolutely amazing stay at Fraser Suites. This was one of our highlights in GZ. The location is fantastic and connected to the One link Walk. Walking distance to all the major malls and Grandview Mall too. The superstars are definitely the staff. Housekeeping and concierge are impeccable, everyone is attentive and polite and ready to help. This trip, my family fell ill and the staff was ready to help us, assisting my husband to the hospital and getting everything sorted out so that it'd be stress free. We were blown away by their service. This is the best hotel we have stayed at to date anywhere and we will definitely be looking out for Fraser Suites on our future travels. Thank you!

Haven't even checked in yet and a butler has already reached out via WeChat to ask about our preferences and needs, which is a great touch. The room is clean and tidy, the mattress is soft and very comfortable, and the bedding feels really nice. The breakfast offers a wide variety and is delicious. I especially want to mention the concierge service. When we took a taxi back to the hotel at night, the doorman helped us check if we'd left anything in the car. He even found a phone that the previous guests had left behind! That's incredibly thoughtful, highly recommend!

This was a very pleasant stay. The room was well-designed, spacious, bright, comfortable, and clean. All the staff were warm and friendly. The front desk even gave us two cute hotel teddy bears when they saw we had children, which excited them very much. The bellhop also helped deliver our luggage to the room. The hotel's location is excellent, connected to Teemall, and Teemall is right on Metro Line 3, just two stops from Canton Tower. Across the street is Parc Central, and through Parc Central is Grandview Mall. There are many shopping malls around, making dining, staying, shopping, and entertainment very convenient. A Luxurious Retreat with Standout Amenities My stay at the Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich was excellent. The hotel truly excels in two key areas: first-class amenities and exceptional service. The pool and spa area is a genuine oasis—beautifully designed and perfectly equipped for relaxation. Equally impressive was the staff, who were consistently helpful, professional, and attentive throughout my visit. For complete transparency, my experience had two minor drawbacks. My room, while comfortable and well-appointed, showed slight signs of wear and would benefit from some maintenance updates. The dining experience was also inconsistent; some dishes were memorable, while others were merely average. That said, these points did little to diminish an otherwise wonderful stay. The overall comfort, serene ambiance, and superb service make the Sofitel Sunrich a hotel I would happily return to and recommend without hesitation.

We had quite an experience at this hotel! We tried the waterfall restaurant on the first floor, right next to a magnificent statue of a deity. Then we headed up to the Liwan Pavilion on the second floor for some authentic local snacks. But the absolute highlight was the revolving restaurant on the 30th floor. I genuinely love revolving restaurants because every seat has a window view, and the constant, gentle rotation felt like a metaphor for life's turns of fortune. Today, I was supposed to go to the gym on the fourth floor with my son, but he, being his clumsy self, got lost again and ended up at the Garden Hotel Spa. A staff member led us in, and wow, it was stunning. I told myself to act cool and not gawk like a country bumpkin. But after a few steps, I couldn't help but exclaim because it was just so beautiful. It was a fusion of traditional Chinese decor with modern elements – I can't even describe it properly. The key was the private atmosphere; I just love places where there aren't many people. However, as soon as my son heard that this wasn't like the free steam room at the gym, and that it was paid, he immediately wanted to go to the free place instead. Seeing his frugal ways, just like his mother, I firmly refused. We were paying, and we weren't leaving. For two hours, we had a blast playing in the water, sometimes napping on the lounge chairs, then heading back into the steam room, completely undisturbed. It was wonderful father-son bonding time. Afterward, we went to the relaxation area. A staff member, wearing a Pandora bracelet, brought us some pastries. If it weren't for managing my health (blood sugar, pressure, and lipids), I would have devoured them all. On the way back, we couldn't stop reminiscing. We also talked about our experiences in many other places. My son and I often go to high-end establishments that charge a 17% service fee. But whether it's a spa or a restaurant, they're always so eager, demanding payment before you even step in, or else you can't enter. But at the Garden Hotel's spa on the 4th floor, you pay after you've enjoyed the service. It truly makes every customer feel like a VIP. I hope they can always maintain this policy of treating every guest equally, no matter how far they've traveled. Wishing the Garden Hotel and Garden Spa prosperous business!

Across the street, you'll find Poly Time Plaza and a Hema Fresh supermarket, making it super convenient for getting around and dining. The view of Guangzhou's night skyline from the 63rd floor is stunning. As an established hotel, the staff are prompt and efficient in addressing issues, ensuring a great guest experience. However, the hotel's facilities feel a bit dated compared to many newly built hotels today.

This was my fourth stay at the Grand Hyatt Guangzhou, so I'm very familiar with the hotel. Its location is convenient, right in the heart of Zhujiang New Town. Some rooms offer views of the Canton Tower, while most overlook the green axis of Huacheng Avenue. For first-time visitors to Zhujiang New Town, the view from the window is quite novel, but for repeat guests, it might feel a bit restricted. The rooms are on the smaller side for a hotel of this caliber, especially the twin rooms, which are narrower compared to most Hyatt properties in other cities. The bathtub has always been a small, square design; it's somewhat creative, but actually moving around in it for a soak is difficult. However, the hotel's public areas are well-designed. The swimming pool is on the top floor and includes hot spring pools, which are much more comfortable and spacious than the in-room bathtubs. Breakfast is a definite highlight; I have a great impression of their fish porridge, wonton noodles, and dim sum. It's clear they put more effort into their breakfast than most other hotels.

To be honest, my experience at Guangzhou MO this time wasn't very satisfying. We arrived at the hotel at 3:13 PM, and were told by the hotel staff that we couldn't check in because our room wasn't ready. So, my girlfriend and I went to grab a bite to eat. We returned to the hotel around 5 PM, only to be informed that we still needed to wait at the front desk as the room was still being finalized. This was a full two hours past the official check-in time of 3 PM. There were a few other issues as well. My requests on Ctrip for extra water and towels were not fulfilled. It also took 25 minutes for our luggage to be delivered to the room, during which my phone was critically low on battery, and there was nothing I could do. However, Guangzhou MO is, after all, an established hotel, and their service response is very prompt, with all staff members being very friendly and always smiling. The duty manager also responded quickly, which somewhat made up for the shortcomings. All in all, Guangzhou MO is still a hotel worth experiencing, and I hope they can improve on their drawbacks.

**Service:** The staff were very warm and welcoming. We received a complimentary room upgrade, and all services were very attentive. They even helped deliver takeout food to our room, and arranged for a shuttle to take us directly to our room upon arrival. **Environment:** The hotel is sprawling, with a beautiful garden estate ambiance. Guest rooms are spread across individual villas and standalone buildings. Getting around is convenient; you can call for a shuttle from your room phone to any point on the property, or simply enjoy a leisurely stroll. **Facilities:** The hotel is well-equipped with a gym, two swimming pools, a hot spring, and a children's playground – perfect for a weekend getaway where you can make full use of all the amenities. The rooms are spacious, though some of the in-room facilities felt a bit dated, they were still clean. **Hygiene:** The cleanliness was decent. While you could spot some signs of wear and tear, it wasn't dirty. Being a hotel nestled in a forested area, it's not uncommon to occasionally see small critters like spiders or snails, but keeping the screen windows closed largely resolves any concerns. **Overall:** This hotel is highly recommended for a weekend getaway, a family vacation, a romantic escape for couples, or even a solo retreat to simply switch off and relax.

Bijushuiwan has many hot spring pools, and quite a few of them are unique. My favorites were the ginger pool and the muscle-relaxing pool; the herbal scent was quite strong. There were also plenty of stone slab beds, so no need to worry about finding a spot. Plus, they have a fish spa! 🤗 The hotel is right next to the Liuxi River, and a stroll along the riverbank is very pleasant. For breakfast, they even had handmade pulled noodles with generous chunks of beef brisket! 😀 They also offered rice noodle rolls; I tried the pork and egg one with added green onions and vegetables – it was delicious. Many dim sum items commonly found at morning tea were also available. What I appreciated most was their selection of floral teas; there were so many varieties, and the lavender one was especially flavorful. It would be great if they could set up a few tables outside in the open air, as it gets quite crowded and it can be hard to find a spot for breakfast, and most tables are large round ones where you have to share.

However when it comes to service it is below standard: 1) front desk - service was poor without any greetings such as bell boy. Front desk officers were unhappy without any eye contact when they talk to you. No hospitality at all; 2) breakfast - the quality both food and service were not up to a 4 or 5 star service. Table was not clean, staffs were almost unfriendly, except one female manager and one staff, all staffs were rushing their task and unwelcoming. I believe the hotel management need to motivate their staff ,otherwise, people won’t come again. 3) Amnenties - room is a luxurious suite with private bath tub, massage chair, kitchen , dining table and queen bed. The tub was not very clean, with water splitting . Such a waste as their service was not meeting the standard of what it is expected to be a 5- star resort. (The environment, garden were nicely decorated indeed) The Hot Spring pool is well known but I have’s try so cannot comment. I won’t come to this resort again, if the service of the hotel haven’t improved. And I won’t recommend travelers with kids who is looking for a family friendly and good service resort. P.S.: Parking spaces were spacious and free

It was quite late when I checked in, but the front desk thoughtfully upgraded me to a king room with a private pool, allowing me to enjoy the hot spring whenever I wished. The ambiance was as excellent as always. After a full day of working overtime, a soak in the hot spring completely relaxed me. It would have been the icing on the cake if food delivery could be brought directly to the room.

My daughter's birthday happened to fall on a weekend, so we drove from Panyu University Town to this resort. I had specifically asked the front desk to decorate the room for the occasion. We opted for a ground-floor room with a garden view, and I was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful it felt to bask in the morning sun on the balcony lounge chair! It's truly rare to find such a tranquil retreat so close to a first-tier city like Guangzhou. The hot spring facilities were absolutely fantastic too!

We drove from Beijing to Hainan and stayed at the W Hotel Xi'an when passing through. Our mood went through a rollercoaster of emotions. Upon check-in, the hotel's 'nightclub' vibe immediately dampened our spirits. However, once we entered our room, the expansive lake view and excellent scenery instantly lifted our mood. All in all, it left a deep impression. Coincidentally, I got a spot in the Guangzhou Marathon, and with so many good hotels in Guangzhou, I specifically booked the W Hotel Guangzhou to check it out. And it certainly didn't disappoint! First, the location is excellent, close to cultural landmarks like the Guangdong Provincial Museum, Guangzhou Library, and Huacheng Square. It's also quite close to both the start/finish line and the bib collection point for the marathon. Secondly, the hotel's design is full of futuristic technology and visual impact. Of course, the lobby still has that 'nightclub' atmosphere, with lighting, music, and decor creating a vibrant, youthful ambiance. The rooms are equipped with modern facilities, and the bedding is luxurious. Furthermore, the dining was also exceptional. We had the buffet dinner on the night we checked in, and the variety was extensive, and the quality was superb. Finally, the service was impeccable. Clinton at the front desk had a smiling demeanor, was highly efficient, and made the check-in process quick. He also helped us with a room upgrade, packed breakfast for us to take to the marathon, and even extended our check-out time because we were late returning from the race. He was truly a thoughtful and heartwarming staff member. In summary, this stay was perfect, leaving us with a unique and unforgettable experience. We will definitely stay again. Thanks again to Clinton at the front desk, you worked hard!

I booked a twin room, and the window couldn't be opened. When checking in, the front desk staff arranged the room according to my requests, and the lady was very enthusiastic. The room had a bathtub but no rainfall showerhead. Our room had a strange smell, but we were too tired to bother switching. You get 15% off if you eat dim sum at the hotel, and I highly recommend the chicken feet and turnip with beef offal. There's also a robot that can deliver meals.

Traveling with my child during the winter holidays, I chose this Holiday Inn after seeing so many good reviews. It turned out to be unexpectedly good! The hotel's location is excellent, right in the city center's CBD, with convenient subway and bus access and plenty of dining options nearby. Max at the front desk was very friendly and polite. He arranged a quiet room for us and even gave my child a complimentary breakfast when he saw I was traveling with a kid. The room was meticulously clean, and the view was great. The breakfast selection was abundant and delicious! A truly satisfying trip.

I usually don't write reviews, but among all the luxury hotels I've stayed in, this is the only one I wouldn't give a good rating to, perhaps because I checked in late at 11 PM and checked out early. The positive note is the security guard who let me park my non-luxury car in one of the few ground-level spots, instead of directing me to the underground garage. The hairdryer cover design is quite clever, unlike some hotels where you have to unlock it. The downside is the drinking water; while well-designed, it's not ideal for someone like me who's drunk late at night, as you have to tear it open with your mouth.

The room was a decent size, nothing special, and the facilities were average, but it was clean and tidy. The service wasn't overly enthusiastic, and their professionalism was just okay. The hotel's location is super convenient for getting around, right next to Exit D of Yuexiu Park Metro Station. What really stood out, though, was how hot the room got – even with the central AC off, I needed a fan for ventilation. It felt like an ice-fire contrast compared to the cool public areas on the same floor. The breakfast and dinner buffets were pretty mediocre in terms of both price and variety. As for the VR for kids, it took two equipment changes before it actually worked. I definitely won't be staying here again.

The hotel arranged some children's toys for my kid in advance, which made them incredibly happy. Jasmine, one of the hotel staff, provided excellent service as well. Overall, the stay was quite pleasant. The executive lounge privileges (including executive lounge afternoon tea/cocktail happy hour/executive lounge meeting room): Both the afternoon tea and happy hour were very good.

I chose this hotel because I had an early flight the next morning. It's very close to T1, just a few minutes' walk away. The service was excellent; they contacted me beforehand to ask about our check-in time and any special requests. Everything was arranged before we even arrived. The soundproofing was also good; I didn't hear any planes at night.

My stay at Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou was truly memorable, even though it was just for one night. What stood out most was how attentive and thoughtful the team was. Before arrival, I mentioned that I hoped for a Canton Tower view, fully understanding that the room category did not guarantee it. To my surprise, they genuinely listened and managed to arrange a room with that view for us, which already set the tone for the stay. I also noted that we were celebrating our anniversary, and despite the short stay, the hotel went the extra mile with lovely in-room decorations, along with complimentary red wine and chocolates. These small but meaningful touches made the celebration feel very special. From the moment we stepped out of the car, the welcome was warm and sincere, and that level of hospitality was consistent throughout our stay. The staff were responsive, caring, and clearly attentive to guest needs. Overall, the level of service here is truly top-notch. This is hospitality done right, and I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an exceptional stay in Guangzhou.

My stay at the Shangri-La Hotel in Guangzhou was absolutely fantastic! 👍 I had initially booked the wrong dates and the platform didn't support refunds or changes after full payment. However, Ms. Zhang, the manager of the hotel's reservation department, went above and beyond to help me coordinate, allowing me to successfully get a refund and rebook. Upon arrival, the huge Christmas tree 🎄 in the lobby was beautiful, really setting a festive mood. The front desk staff (Joyce, Rose, Lena) were incredibly attentive and warm-hearted ❤️🔥. Throughout my stay, I was continuously impressed by the hotel's service and the food, both truly five-star quality. After checking out, I realized I had left some important items in my room, and Ms. Lin from housekeeping proactively contacted me and arranged for them to be couriered to my home. All in all, I absolutely loved my experience at the Shangri-La Hotel Guangzhou!

The hotel was conveniently located a short walk away from the metro and is easily identifiable due to its unique design. There are a few malls nearby that has sufficient eateries. Few street food available though within walking distance. We were given a room on the top floor and the room felt new, modern and sufficiently bright. Lounge canapes had variety, and breakfast was excellent with many local delicacies. Staff very friendly, helpful and responsive on wechat. An excellent stay and would certainly stay again if I go back to Guangzhou.

Great location, very convenient and clean. With earplugs, I slept soundly! Very satisfied! The only downside was the noise from the next room at night; when they opened their suitcase and bumped the dividing wall, my room would vibrate. Still, it was fine for a short stay, and I was quite happy. I actually showered at the airport hotel right after landing before checking in here, so I didn't use their bathroom.

The hotel was excellent! As soon as we arrived at the airport, the hotel staff arranged a car to pick us up. When we left, we had the option of being dropped off at the airport or the subway station, and the hotel even arranged a Didi (ride-sharing service) for us. There are many hidden local eateries and convenience stores nearby. They are very friendly towards foreigners. We had a 'Taobao unboxing' experience at the hotel upon arrival (likely referring to getting packages delivered easily), and the next day, we could check out as late as 4 PM. The room was very comfortable. It's definitely worth coming back to stay here again! ❤️

This is my third time staying here! I chose it again for my postgraduate entrance exam because it's the closest hotel to the test center. This visit was by far the best and most impactful of my three stays. The room type I booked through the platform was fully taken by other exam candidates, so they upgraded me to a one-bedroom suite with a separate living area. The chaise lounge sofa was incredibly comfortable to sleep on! Most importantly, the room had excellent amenities for studying – a desk and a desk lamp were all there! The black and white photos of Guangzhou landmarks like Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, Poly Intercontinental Hotel, and Poly Tianmu Plaza hanging on the wall added a touch of elegant artistic flair! What's more, the staff's service and demeanor were, as always, excellent. Chatting with them in Cantonese felt so friendly and avoided any awkward small talk; it was truly superb! Big thumbs up! I'll definitely return if I need to. Finally, I wish the hotel continued prosperity, booming business, and a flourishing future! And a happy New Year and swift success to the hotel in advance!!!

Hotel was very convenient to attend Canton Fair. Right next to Shiqiao metro station exit B. Price was very reasonable given it was Canton fair week when prices are usually higher. Chinese breakfast was sufficient. Plenty of restaurants nearby to eat at but not much else. If you just need a clean bed at reasonable price to get in and out of Canton fair, then can recommend this hotel. It has the basics well done.

Must-Have Apps in China

  • China Travel Apps 15+ China trips taught me: Use Trip.com. It's the best English app for booking China trains/flights/hotels + finds Trip.com deals.
  • China Dating Apps Locals use Tantan (China’s Tinder) and Momo. WeChat’s “People Nearby” works too, but expect language barriers unless your Mandarin’s decent.
  • China Food App Use Meituan (also helps find nearby restaurants) or Ele.me for food delivery—both have English mode. No English menu in restaurants? Scan the QR with Alipay's translator.
