I booked a suite at Shanxi Hotel. Oh boy, what a stay!!! The hotel looks like a courtyard. The receptionist and the bellboy were all very cordial. They carried my luggage to the room for free. Our room was in another building so they advised us we could check out without coming back to the reception desk again. Just leave the keys in the room. The room was quite spacious with lots of amenities. I am very surprised they offer in-room laundry detergent and electric cloth dryer for hanging clothes. They consider every aspect of my stay and I would give them 5 out of 5 stars.

A family room for four, staying with my wife and two kids. The king bed is huge, the second king bed is also huge, and the bedding is soft and comfortable. There is one bathroom. Although it is on the 32nd floor, the water pressure is huge and the shower is very comfortable. The breakfast is mostly local and tastes good. Parking is free, and the hotel is also close to the Fen River. It is also good to go out for a run in the morning. It is also close to the Shanxi Merchants Museum, about 50 meters away, and the Food Street and Gulou Street are not far away. The swimming pool is not too big or small, the water is very clean, and the parking lot is free. It is very convenient to eat.

The hotel's location is fantastic, right next to the beautiful Longtan Park and Wanda Plaza, making it super convenient for leisure, shopping, and transportation. The room was relatively clean and comfortable, and the service was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast buffet offered a good variety of local Shanxi specialty dishes. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone planning a trip and looking for accommodation.

The hotel itself is located out in the far Northeast of the city, in a quiet location, but easily accessible by the fast roads. It is opposite a shopping mall with everything you need such as coffee shop, fast food etc. Conveniece store also just across the street. Check-in was easy and straight-forward and the hotel is clean and modern. The room was well-appointed with everything I needed and the best thing was the amazing bed, which was super-comfortable! Breakfast is excellent and has both Western and Chinese buffet options. Plenty of choice here! Service was fantastic for this stay. The second day we had a power blackout for an hour or so because of engineers across the street. The staff dealt with it very well and made sure I was looked after. Swimming pool is good too. Recommend.

Liu Xiang/Bell Tower Street Taiyuan|1.81km from city center
This hotel is recommended by a friend from Shanxi. She said she would stay here every time she went to Taiyuan with her family! Although the hotel is historic, it is really clean! They cleaned every day and saw that we washed our clothes by ourselves, so they gave us travel-sized laundry detergent. They also saw that we put cosmetics on the table, so they gave us makeup remover wipes. It was really thoughtful! The transportation is also convenient. It only takes about ten to twenty minutes to walk to Liuxiang and Zhonglou Street, and a few minutes to walk to the Da Nanmen subway station. You can take the subway and then take a taxi to the scenic spots, or take a taxi directly to the scenic spots. It is very convenient. The egg-filled pancake shop behind the hotel is delicious (open during breakfast hours). The shuttle bus after the concert will pass by the Da Nanmen subway station, so you don’t have to worry about not being able to get a taxi back to the hotel! Really great! Finally, special thanks to the hotel housekeepers: Zhenzhen, Xiaohan and Xiaoan. Thank you. Next time I come to Taiyuan, I will stay here again. whee.

Good location within walking distance hunting for food or tourist attractions like Bell or Drum towers. The hotel location is good but the room we stayed is a bit older wooden furniture type, slightly outdated. Room air-conditioning didn't work well, so it was kind of stuffy. Buffet breakfast, unfortunately not many choices to pick and it is the standard usual Chinese breakfast.... One thing that stood out for us was the front office receptionists. Friendly, thoughtful and very helpful. Thumbs up for the girls.

The hotel was famous and adjacent to a tourist attraction. The service was nice, except for a young male driver (for the commuting car that connected the hotel's buildings and the tourist attraction's gate), who seemed a bit reluctant or tired at work and lacked communication skills or etiquette (since the hotel claimed itself to be a five star hotel, it is not uncommon for guests to have higher expectations than elsewhere). It is said that the hotel was built in the 1950s. Thus, it was not surprising that many facilities seemed relatively old, especially when compared with newer hotels. Overall, the hotel could be a good choice.

Because of the convenient transportation and superior location, we chose Bingzhou Hotel in Taiyuan. The facilities are quite complete, but we went out early and came back late every day and didn't pay attention to whether there was a swimming pool. We think the hotel facilities are good Hygiene: The room, restaurant, hotel corridor, etc. are clean, the family room is quite large and clean Environment: Metro Line 1 is nearby, within 5 minutes, it is very convenient to go to the airport Service: There is no luggage delivery service to the room, but the basic service is still good The hotel's breakfast is good, very rich, and the service is also quite good.

I checked into Taiyuan Garden International Hotel on the first day of my arrival in Shanxi. First, the front desk was very enthusiastic and changed the standard double room for my daughter and me to a king-size bed room. Since I needed to work on a computer for a temporary task, the staff took the initiative to find a computer to help me out of an emergency. The second group tour still stayed in this hotel, and the front desk staff was very considerate to leave the original room for us to stay, saving us the trouble of packing. Seeing that I liked to take a bath, they also took the initiative to provide disposable bath bags and hangers. The service of Garden International Hotel makes people feel warm and considerate, and I booked here again for the return trip😊

Hygiene: Excellent. All towels, bath towels, and bathrobes come in sealed bags, which made me feel very secure using them. Facilities: Excellent. Although it's an older hotel, the showerheads show their age but are very well-maintained and work perfectly. Environment: The location is great. The room card gives access to a small gate leading to Yingze Lake Park. It's a nice two to three-kilometer loop for a leisurely stroll. Service: Excellent. They offered complimentary welcome fruits, and you just scan a QR code to request more amenities. There's also a delivery robot that brings food right to your door, all very convenient. Suggestion: I hope they can switch from instant Nestlé coffee to pour-over coffee bags. Instant coffee feels too low-end and doesn't match the hotel's overall quality.

Veteran Cadre Style (Taiyuan) It’s my first time staying at Kempinski. It has a strong old-fashioned atmosphere, which young people may find a bit old-fashioned. But the service and hardware facilities are very good, and the cost-effectiveness of staying in the off-season is very high [heart] Location: Close to Changfeng Street subway station, about 100 to 200 meters away, and also close to Binhe Expressway, very convenient for driving and public transportation. Decoration style: It's quite standard. In the eyes of those who like it, it is steady and elegant, and it is the result of years of accumulation. Those who don't like it think it is old-fashioned and has no novelty [laughing and crying]. But the furniture is of high quality, with a bit of old money style. Hardware facilities: Impeccable, with a gym and swimming pool, all of which are large in size. The room is big enough. I stayed in a deluxe view room. I like the layout very much. There are huge floor-to-ceiling windows, three separate washing areas, and a bathtub next to the window, so you can have a clear view of the night view. The interior is also unambiguous, with electric curtains, smart switches, top-tier brand sanitary ware, wall-mounted toilets and the quality of the toiletries are also online. The most important thing is that the bedding is very comfortable, the mattress and pillow are moderately soft and hard, and I slept soundly [laughing and crying] Service: This is even better. Free drinks in the minibar, turndown service, cultural and creative gifts when leaving the hotel, all kinds of problems can be handled quickly, the service staff in all parts of the hotel are polite, and the happiest thing is that the room type was upgraded for free [laughing and crying] Hygiene: Every detail is handled very well, and there are no blind spots. Price: Checked in on March 9th, 546 excluding breakfast, upgraded to a deluxe room with a view, free drinks in the minibar, very good value for money. Very good stay experience, I will choose this place next time I come to Taiyuan [heart]

Facilities: My friends told me this is one of the more upscale hotels in the area. The smart room features throughout are quite impressive, and food deliveries are brought directly to the room by a robot. Service: The service was exceptionally attentive. On the first day, we needed an extra bed, and the housekeeping manager went above and beyond, checking various room sizes to find the best arrangement. We stayed for four nights. One day, I washed clothes and left them hanging in the bathroom to drip dry. When we returned, the housekeeper had thoughtfully left a note and moved them out to dry properly – such attention to detail! Later in our stay, we were driving a local friend's car and returned very late one night. The parking attendant, even past 1 AM, patiently helped open the garage door without any sign of impatience. Environment: The hotel breakfast was quite good, especially the knife-cut noodles (Dao Xiao Mian), which were particularly delicious! 😋
